The Edward Mooney House, located at 18 Bowery in Chinatown, is considered Manhattan's oldest surviving row house. It is one of the Landmarks Commission’s earliest designations, in 1966, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Built between 1785‐89 for wealthy butcher Edward Mooney, the Federal-style house has had many uses, including a brothel, pub, rumored o***m den, speakeasy, the infamous Barney Flynn's Saloon, a multi‐story Chinese restaurant, sanctioned Off Track Betting location and a bank.

The restoration project, led by Mary Kay Judy -Architectural & Cultural Heritage Conservation, included careful research, testing, and analysis of the layers of history hidden in the building. The brick and brownstone facades and wood cornice were repaired, and new wood windows, doors, and decorative elements were installed.

Molly was the type of dog that met us where we were every single day. Long walks to reflect, cuddles to comfort, and pure joy with tail wags to celebrate.
