Before and after transforming these carpet grade stairs into beautiful oak hardwood. I used solid oak "cap treads" to cover the original osb treads, and stained them to match the existing laminate flooring in the rest of the home. While it was possible to use the same laminate on the stairs, one piece solid oak cap treads offer significantly more durability and a cleaner look without a major increase in the material costs.

I am so grateful when someone takes the time to write about their experience with us. It sometimes can feel like all the little details and unseen work that goes into projects can go unnoticed, but when I get comments like this it reminds me that everything matters and details count!
