SUMMARY

Hands on individual performing complex production extrusions on a daily basis. Works with Argos Corporation production technicians to support projects and ongoing technical needs related to production and process. Daily operations will be extruding tubing and profiles. Project examples include, new product development, ISO compliance, production efficiency improvements, new equipment needs, technical support of sales and marketing, and resolution of customer service concerns.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Work hands-on with extrusion technicians for all extrusion jobs.
2. Work in a white room environment manufacturing single and
multilumen, coextruded, bump/taper and other medical tubing.
3. Become a subject matter expert in extrusion.
4. Train current operators to advance to the next level.
5. Provide support to production to troubleshoot and resolve
technical issues.
6. Set-up and start-up of extrusion equipment. Assist production
and quality to meet production and customer demands.
7. Transfer extrusion knowledge to production technicians and
employees to assure they can meet challenges of manufacturing.
8. Work with scheduling and production technicians to maintain
efficient workflow and production scheduling.
9. Promote and execute initiatives to improve or facilitate a safe
and productive work environment. Work with production
technicians and manufacturing employees to promote good
work habits.
10. Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

1. Typical incumbent has a 4-year Engineering Degree and 0-5
years relevant experience, or equivalent.
2. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
3. Duties require professional verbal and written communication.
4. Solid Works Knowledge a plus
5. Working knowledge of Statistical Quality Methods is
recommended.
6. Ability to work with others in a team as well as an instructor and
supervisor.
7. Mechanical aptitude.

Job Summary

In this dual role, the incumbent will perform engineering duties in planning and designing tooling, maintenance of extrusion equipment and tooling. Candidate will also perform quality functions in support of ISO13485 and product inspection and validation. Opportunity for mentorship with Senior Engineers.

General Accountabilities:

Generates SolidWorks drawings for tool design and/or extrusion drawings.
Alter and modify designs for improvements to equipment and tooling in support of production.
Oversee maintenance program.
Confers with engineers or other personnel to implement and write operating procedures or provide technical information.
Prepare product reports and documentation.
Writes performance requirements for product development or engineering projects.
Maintenance of tooling and gives employee instruction on proper set-up of equipment and tooling.
Provide machine shop support.
Identifies, analyzes, and documents problems with manufacturing processes.

Quality Responsibilities:

Inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met.
Training and overseeing inspectors and other staff in inspection activities.
Using inspection data to solve production issues and recommend improvements.
Investigating and troubleshooting product or production issues.
Developing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements.
Monitoring and analyzing quality performance.
Collaborating with production staff to develop and implement controls and improvements.
Developing and implementing quality control systems.
Documents procedures and train personnel to ensure compliance with standards.
Develops or specifies standards, methods, or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness.
Conducting batch record review.
Participating in planning, conducting, and documenting process and equipment validations.
Participating in planning, conducting, and documenting Internal Audits.
Participate in the equipment calibration program.
Collecting and reporting on Quality Metrics.
Writing Quality Documents
Investigates customer problems or complaints.

Job Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience
Experience: 0-5 years of related experience (will train the right candidate)
