The other day, we got a call from a friend and long-time customer who recently bought a new place.
The AC system was really struggling, so she had us come out for a service call. As it turns out, she bought from someone who apparently believed in DIY HVAC.
The previous install had a 12-inch duct fitted onto a 10-inch return opening with no proper transition and no properly sealed connection. Instead of getting the right-sized duct and doing it the right way, someone made it “work.”
Well, over time, those gaps pulled dirt, dust, and debris straight into the package unit.
Just look at the before and after pics of the coil. It’s honestly a wonder the poor thing was still running at all. 😮
Parker and Richarde came back a couple days later, recovered the refrigerant, pulled the unit, cleaned the coil, ran new supply and return duct, and even removed an old motor that had been left behind from the unit before this one so she could reclaim some cabinet space.
Then they put everything back together the way it OUGHT to be and now she’s comfy and cool again. 💙
Thanks for making us look good as always, boys. Well done.
Loose duct connections, gaps, and improper fittings might not seem like a big deal at first, but given enough time, they absolutely can and will suffocate your system.
Some things are worth doing yourself... HVAC usually is not one of them.
