At Nordic Development Industries, we build and provide off-grid communication devices that work without cell service, Wi-Fi, or satellites. We get a ton of questions about how they work so this post will address some of those questions.

These radios run a part of a technology called Meshtastic — a secure, long-range messaging system that connects people even when traditional networks go down.

Whether you’re hiking in remote wilderness, working in emergency response, or preparing for natural disasters, our radios keep you connected and informed in any environment.

⸻

Key Features:
• Send and receive text messages using long range radio — no phone signal required.
• Create a private communication network between radios automatically — they form a “mesh,” relaying messages across long distances.
• Track GPS locations of family or team members.
• Operate silently and securely, making them ideal for both outdoor adventure and tactical use.
• Connect to your phone via Bluetooth or serial (USB C) for an easy-to-use messaging interface.

⸻

Use Cases:
• Search & Rescue Teams staying connected deep in the field
• Emergency Response when cell towers are down
• Outdoor Adventurers in remote areas with no service
• Prepared Citizens and community responders building resilient communication networks
• Military & Special Response Teams needing silent, localized communication

⸻

Power Efficient & Portable

Designed to run for days on a single charge, our radios are compact, lightweight, and built for rugged environments.

⸻

At a time when reliable communication is more important than ever, our mission is to deliver independent, resilient, and secure messaging solutions for any scenario — no infrastructure required.

Capabilities of the PV1 DART:

1. Encrypted real-time messaging
2. GPS tracking over mesh network
3. Multi-day battery capacity
4. Line of sight communication
5. Ruggedized, all aluminum housing
6. Pre-programmed settings and channels
7. ATAK Interoperability
8. Low Probability of Intercept/Detection

By utilizing this tool in the field, you gain a powerful force multiplier: the ability to communicate silently, clearly, and covertly across different teams and devices.

This enhances OPSEC, supports Low Probability of Detection (LPD), and ensures real-time interoperability without the need for voice traffic that can be intercepted, misheard, or compromised.

No weapon, no strategy, no individual skill matters more than the ability to communicate—and to be understood—under pressure.

Don’t miss out on integrating this comms capability into your kit. Drop at noon central this Wednesday.

The time is finally here⚔️

We are proud to announce the PV1 DART will be available for purchase next week Wednesday, June 4th at noon central!

Limited quantities will be available and we will be taking orders for one week or until units have sold out - whichever occurs first.

As if this news wasn’t good enough, we’ve partnered with a manufacture to ensure top notch customer service, timely delivery, and unmatched quality from a company right here in the Midwest.

Whether you’re working off-grid, responding to emergencies, or building local resilience — having your own autonomous comms network isn’t a luxury anymore. It’s a necessity.

That’s why we built the PV1 DART.

It’s already being used in the field in several industries. From freedom loving American citizens to military personnel.

If you’ve been waiting — now’s the time to gear up with the PV1 DART from Nordic Development Industries. Keep an eye out for more info to come next week Monday!

PSA! 🗣️

We have solar repeaters in stock! Same internals as our popular DART radios with an added solar capability built in, all in a IP67 enclosure.

Throw this on a pack, attach to a vehicle, even attach a tag line and hang from a tree in the backcountry.

Also…we have an even bigger announcement coming later this week regarding PV1 and PV2!

Those of you who have ordered PV2s: we will now be fulfilling preorders in the order they were received!

Thank you for supporting NDI!
