Today, we celebrate Lineman Appreciation Day and recognize the dedicated employees who keep our community powered.

Our linemen work long hours in all kinds of weather, often behind the scenes, to ensure our homes, schools, and businesses have safe and reliable electricity.

From restoring power during storms to maintaining the lines we depend on every day, their commitment does not go unnoticed. We are grateful for their hard work, sacrifice, and dedication to serving our community.

Please join us in thanking our linemen today and every day. ⚡

Rounding out our third award, we are proud to be recognized for reliability.

The Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3) program is a national designation from the American Public Power Association that recognizes utilities delivering the highest level of reliable and safe electric service.

This designation is not easily earned. Applications undergo a rigorous review by an 18-member panel of national experts in reliability, safety, transmission and distribution, workforce development, and system planning.

We are especially proud to share that Tell City Electric is 1 of just 106 of the nation's more than 2,000 public power utilities and 1 of only 2 in the state of Indiana to achieve Diamond Level status.

This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to providing safe, dependable service to our community every day.

❄️ Winter Storm Safety & Preparedness Notice ❄️

Tell City Electric is preparing crews and equipment to respond as quickly and safely as possible to any outages or issues that may occur due to the predicted winter storm.

💡 If you plan to use a generator, please remember these important safety tips:

- Never run generators indoors, in garages, or near windows or doors.

- Keep generators outdoors and far from any openings to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.

- Never plug a generator into a wall outlet; use a transfer switch installed by a licensed electrician to prevent electrocution of utility workers

- Use heavy-duty, outdoor-rated extension cords only.

⚠️Important safety reminders:

‼️- Stay away from any downed power lines - always assume they are energized & dangerous.‼️

In the event of outages, our crews will be working in extremely difficult weather conditions. We ask for your patience and understanding as they work to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. Your consideration for our employees working in the elements is greatly appreciated.
