⚠️ Generator Safety Reminder During Power Outages ⚡

When connecting a generator, this step is critical:

🚨 TURN OFF YOUR MAIN BREAKER 🚨

Failing to shut off the main breaker can backfeed power into utility lines, putting linemen and first responders at serious risk while they’re working to restore power. This isn’t just unsafe—it can have deadly consequences.

A few non-negotiables:
• Never run a generator indoors (including garages) — carbon monoxide kills silently
• Always turn OFF the main breaker before energizing a generator
• Use a transfer switch or approved interlock whenever possible
• Run generators outdoors only, far from windows and doors
• Don’t overload the generator — power essentials only

Bottom line: generators keep the lights on, but only when used the right way. Do it safely. Protect your family, your home, and the utility crews working in the weather to get power back on.

We are asking the public for any information they may have. Several businesses including Casey Electric/Casey Supply were burglarized last night. If anyone saw anything from 9:30-midnight last night, please call us at 812-547-3862 or TC Dispatch. If you happened to see anyone in the area, on the highway, etc., please let us know.

Casey Electric along with Casey Supply had the privilege of attending the Aspire 2025 event today — a great opportunity for local high school sophomores to connect with professionals across a wide range of careers.

Events like this give students a chance to ask real questions, explore different paths, and get a glimpse into what their futures could look like. Our team enjoyed sharing what it’s like to work in the electrical trade and how rewarding a skilled career can be.
