Construction Inclusion Week: Growing Through Construction
Meet Antonio “Tony” Davis, Superintendent at Northwest Demolition & Dismantling, one of our operating companies. In 10 years, Tony has grown from laborer to one of the company’s key superintendents, leading crews on some of the most remote job sites anywhere, including McMurdo Station in Antarctica, Midway Atoll, Kwajalein Atoll, Adak, Alaska, and projects across Hawaii.
His favorite project was the Crystal River Unit 3 nuclear plant in Florida, where a 50-ton robotic excavator was hung from a crane to demolish the reactor containment interior. Most recently, he led a chiller water vessel dismantling inside a county courthouse in Eugene, Oregon. The vessel was dismantled and crane hoisted through a demolished roof pe*******on. The project was completed without injury ahead of schedule.
Tony credits his growth to planning for safety, managing crew fatigue, and “learning something new every day,” then sharing what he learns to make the work easier and safer for everyone.
