With great sadness Device Engineering Incorporated (DEI) announces that Philip F. Hubbert; age 70, passed away peacefully March 22, 2016, after a long illness. Phil was one of the founding partners (1990) of DEI where he served as President and CEO for many years.

He began his career at the University of Cincinnati graduating with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering class of 1968 and also as a member of the “Triangle” Engineering Fraternity.

Phil worked for almost 50 years in the Engineering field, starting with college intern programs, then at McDonnell Douglas and Hewlett Packard, where his talents contributed to the Apollo Space program. He later worked at Honeywell PMSD, NEC Electronics, General Instrument Microelectronics (now Microchip), and Standard Micro Systems before starting his own business.

DEI, the company he cofounded, has now developed into a world class supplier of Avionics semiconductor components sold worldwide. All Commercial Aircraft that fly today have microchips designed by DEI.

He considered his employees as family and trusted colleagues and treated his rep organization and customers with respect, honesty and integrity. A few years before retiring in 2014 Phil began the transition from privately held corporation to the Employee Owned (ESOP) Company which it is today.

He will be missed by all of us.
