Before finding her passion for civil engineering, Felicia Martinez spent eight years serving in the military. When she transitioned out, she wasn’t sure what came next.
She completed nursing school before realizing it wasn't the right fit, then explored a career in law enforcement.
Eventually, she found mechanical engineering, earning her degree while working for a small company where she had the opportunity to learn a little bit of everything—from HVAC systems to the many moving pieces that bring a project together.
When that company closed, her next opportunity brought her into a firm working across both mechanical and civil engineering. And that was when everything changed. Civil Engineering was (and is) her passion.
Felicia discovered that she loved the work, the problem-solving and the opportunity to help shape the infrastructure and communities around her. What started as another turn in an unconventional career path became the career she knew she wanted to build.
Today, Felicia is our Director of Civil Operations, and we are so grateful for the experience, perspective and determination she brings to our team.

Phil Reimer may be new to the Alta team, but he’s definitely not new to surveying.

With more than four decades in the industry, Phil has watched surveying evolve—from the tools we use to the technology changing how we work in the field.

We had a moment to catch up with him at the recent APWA conference to talk about what makes surveying such a great career.

We're excited to welcome Phil Reimer to the Alta Environmental & Infrastructure team!
With more than 40 years of experience in land surveying, Phil brings an incredible depth of technical expertise, leadership, and industry knowledge. As a Professional Land Surveyor licensed in Arizona, Nevada, and California, and a Certified Federal Surveyor, he has led teams of up to 20 survey crews while delivering everything from boundary and ALTA surveys to construction, topographic, bathymetric, and FEMA flood surveys.
But what we appreciate most about Phil isn't just his impressive resume—it's his passion for mentoring others.
What started as an unexpected career path has become a lifelong calling centered on building relationships, embracing new technology, and helping the next generation of survey professionals succeed. In addition to his work in the field, Phil serves as an Adjunct Professor at Great Basin College, has lectured at Northern Arizona University, and continues to teach and mentor future land surveyors across the Southwest.
Outside of work, you'll find him on two wheels as an avid cyclist and USA Cycling Olympic-level coach, where he's helped collegiate teams achieve regional championships and national success.
Phil's experience, leadership, and commitment to excellence make him an outstanding addition to our growing Survey team, and we're thrilled to have him on board.
