Reversing valve switches unit back to AC mode, indoor heat strips kick on, Outdoor fan kicks off to raise head pressure, steam comes out of the top of the outdoor unit, water on the ground under unit where ice has melted, ALL NORMAL!

If you have a metal roof, please take precautions against damage to your outdoor AC units. Ice sliding off your roof, could cause serious damage. May try putting a piece of plywood over the unit. Be safe out there.

🥶❄️ FREEZING WEATHER IS COMING — READ THIS BEFORE YOU PANIC ❄️🥶

Cold temps are on the way and your heat pump needs a little help to keep you warm.

👉 WHEN TO TURN ON EMERGENCY HEAT:
✅ If it’s below 30–32° outside
✅ If your heat pump is blowing cool air
✅ If your house won’t warm up no matter how high you turn the thermostat

📍 Switch your thermostat to “EM HEAT” or “EMERGENCY HEAT”
This uses your backup heat and keeps your system from struggling in extreme cold.

Other easy tips:
✅ Change your air filter
✅ Clear snow & ice away from the outdoor unit
✅ Set the thermostat and leave it alone
✅ If you hear loud or strange noises — that’s not normal

🚨 If your house is still cold, your heat won’t keep up, or you don’t know how to turn on Emergency Heat — call us before pipes freeze and tempers rise.
