Laborer - Civil/Mass Grade/Site Construction OR Underground Pipe/Utility Construction
Job Duties:
Full range of body motion including handling and operating levers or controls, manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Standing for extensive periods of time.
Ability to handle the bouncing and jarring of the equipment.
Must be able to mount and dismount off vehicles and/or equipment.
Shovel, rake and spread dirt.
Set up and tear down equipment.
Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.
Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
Miscellaneous labor, site preparation and site clean-up.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of applicable safety precautions.
Strong communication skills to coordinate work flow with crew, foreman and superintendent.
Ability to work under general supervision per work schedule.
Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
Must be willing to work weekends when necessary.
Corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue and to effectively jump, sprint, or throw an object.
Work Environment:
Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
Noise level is generally loud.
Projects are local within the Lake, Marion and Sumter county areas.
