Today, I spoke to a guy in Crown Point, with a $500+/month National Grid bill. People can't afford their electricity folks... This is getting real for more and more people.

I quickly qualified him for the Affordable Solar program through NYSERDA. Yes, there is still incentive money I can get for my customers to go solar, but NYSERDA is only helping families living with a low income (80% of Area Median Income).

He thought batteries were needed to go solar.... absolutely not. If your goal is to save money, you just need to make electricity. You buy kWh from National Grid. Your solar makes kWh....

Every system is custom designed to check all the customers' boxes. This design will be a simple grid-tied with no battery backup since we need the lowest upfront cost system to make the most kWh to save the most $$$

20,300 watts of clean power installed on a Solar Foundations USA, Inc. rack. Location is Wilmington, NY. This system will cover the annual electrical usage of this home which is heated via ground source heat pumps. $40/month heating and power bill... sign me up!

I feel like we need to have an educational seminar on solar... what do you think? Maybe a send out a poll and find a location.

I had another conversation with a person who said to me " I don't know about all this solar stuff....". This was right after he said "hi" to me from his truck as I'm putting panels on an awesome 20.3 kW ground mount.

What this gentleman really means to say is something like this: "I have no idea how solar works and why people do it" because the questions afterwards confirmed he had all these preconceived notions... not based in any sort of reality.

Anyways, yes, we live in the northeast, so we get snow, clouds and a low sun angle in the wintertime. Solar makes less kWh on average /day but let me tell you.... when the sun does come out and it is cold.... the systems CRANK!!!!

My inverters were at max power output. Seen by the flat yellow line. This is called " clipping". The solar panels are outputting more power than the inverter can produce.
