We had another tile repair on Monday. This was a tight jobsite. The machine just fit between the outside basement entrance and a tree, then we had to sit it on the edge of a very deep ravine to make the repair. The old tile was filled with mud and roots and it had a break in it. We made the repair and water is draining away again.

We have been receiving a lot of calls for sewers backing up into basements. This is another backwater sewer valve we installed to stop sewage from backing up into the house. We also installed cleanouts on either side of the valve.

Some Mondays are more eventful than others... we diagnosed a blockage in this line that we were unable to clear. So our only option was excavating the sewer line and replacing the section of line that was blocked. What we did not know was the line had 70' of sludge in it. So we found the line where we knew it was blocked and exposed about 10' of it before getting to the sidewalk, utilities and road. Unfortunately we were not passed the blockage and ended up with a geyser - and not the fun kind like at Yellowstone park.

But thanks to Greene's Plumbing, Heating & Electrical and Hoover's Property Services LLC we were able to clear the section of line under the road and get the drains flowing again.

A project we recently finished on a new house being built by Waters' Construction LLC

1. Designed and installed a new gravity leach field septic system using materials from Seislove's Burial Vaults and Septic Tanks

2. Excavated and installed the water line feed from the curb valve.

3. Excavated and installed a tile from the downspouts to a field tile.

4. Repaired damaged field tile.

Continuing our tile repair theme, here is another job we recently finished to fix a problem with this customer's basement flooding during heavy rains.

To fix the problem we:

1. Installed a tile from the footer tile, directly to the creek bank giving a gravity, daylight drain.

2. Installed cleanouts for the footer tile and had Andy Hoover jet the footer tile because it was plugged with mud.

3. Repaired a broken tile in the front yard that ties into a county tile and leads to the creek.

4. Buried a tile for the sump pump discharge so it doesn't just pump onto the ground

5. Installed backwater check valves to prevent creek water from back feeding into the footer tile.

This basement should should stay dry now!

This customer was having issues with water in their basement, so we did several things to remedy the problem.

First, we extended a buried downspout and installed a pop-up to stop rain water from running back to the house.

Second, we placed dirt around the foundation to direct water away from the foundation.

Third, we discovered a sink hole in the front yard directly above the drain tile for the footer tile, so we excavated and found a bad tile connection that was plugged with mud. We removed the section and installed schedule 35 pipe with cleanouts for the main tile, and the tile from the house.

Now, water is once again flowing freely away from this house and not backing up into the basement.

Big thanks to Andy Hoover for water jetting the tile for us.
