Southwest Rural Electric Southwest Rural Electric Cooperative provides electric service over a 6,000-square-mile area that spans 11 counties of southwest Oklahoma and north Texas.

SWRE’s page is NOT monitored 24 hours day. Any member service issues that need immediate attention, such as power outages, should not be posted on Facebook because we cannot guarantee a timely response. Please report power outages by calling SWRE's Outage Hotline at 1-833-590-0353 or in the SmartHub Mobile app. Both the hotline and app are available to members 24/7 and outages reported on

either are seen by our crews immediately. Downed power lines or emergency? Please call us directly at 1-800-256-7973 and let us know your situation. Calls are answered 24 hours a day, including holidays and weekends. Any specific questions about your SWRE account or your power bill should be handled in person at the SWRE office, 700 North Broadway, Tipton, OK, or by phone at 1-800-256-7973 during regular business hours. SWRE reserves the right to screen posts and to remove any post that we feel is inappropriate, rude or offensive, or any negative feedback that is presented without constructive criticism. We will delete comments that contain vulgar language or personal attacks of any kind. We reserve the right to remove any unsolicited advertising and comments that include links to other sites, are clearly off-topic, advocate illegal activity, promote particular services, products or political organizations, or infringe on copyrights or trademarks. Thank you for your patience! The issue is on OMPA's transmission line near Frederick.

ORIGINAL POST (12 p.m.): SWRE has outages coming in from Texas and Oklahoma. We know the issue is at the substation level and Western Farmers, our power supplier, is investigating the issue. Right now, we know that the Guyer, City of Electra, Tipton and Frederick substations have been impacted. We will update members as information becomes available.

ORIGINAL POST (5/21 4:30 p.m.): We are aware of outages coming in from members off of the east circuit of the Altus Substation after a car came in contact with a utility pole. Crews are en route to assess damage and begin restoration.

ORIGINAL POST (5/15 9:50 a.m.): Western Farmers, our power supplier, will be doing maintenance on the Tipton Substation starting in just a few minutes and lasting about one hour.
