Memorial Day is not just a day off, a beach day, or a backyard BBQ. It's a day to remember and honor the brave men and women in our Armed Forces who paid the ultimate price for our country and our freedoms.
This Memorial Day, owner Charlie, and his wife, Lindsay, participated in a "Murph Challenge", named after Lt. Michael P. Murphy, who was killed while serving in Afghanistan in 2005. He was awarded the Medal of Honor, the Silver Star Medal, and the Purple Heart for his brave and selfless actions in combat.
The "Murph Challenge" is a physical (mental, and emotional) test that includes: 1 mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, 1 mile run. When the pain and exhaustion become too much, participants draw strength from remembering heroes like Lt. Murphy and others who didn't give up under far more difficult circumstances.
We are humbled and grateful to live in this great country. We honor those who have died defending our freedoms, and their families who have also sacrificed so much. May God bless them, and God bless America. πΊπΈπ¦
