INCOMING! A "Heavy Flurry" of Cottonwood has started! Have you seen or felt the impacts of the early flurries or incoming drifts of cottonwood will begin to pile up between now and early June?!? While this map is mostly lighthearted fun, cottonwood "Fluff" can cause problems such as triggering irritation for those with allergies and asthma along with potentially clogging A/C and vehicle air filters causing loss of efficiency.
Cottonwood trees are most common near rivers, floodplains, wetlands and near the Lake Erie shore which are very prone to cottonwood "accumulations" this time of year.
