The colder ❄️ temperatures unfortunately are coming; always a good idea to have preventive maintenance performed. Dirty/rusty burners can cause inefficient operation, increased energy bills and dangerous carbon monoxide. Rust clogs the jets and slows down air flow which restricts airflow and can cause issues.

The COLD TRUTH: The R-454B Refrigerant Shortage

Many HVAC contractors are facing challenges due to the R-454 refrigerant shortage and implications of the AIM Act. This has impacted equipment sales, supply chain issues and customer affordability.

These are burners off a customers’ forced air furnace. As you can see, they are very rusted, which doesn’t allow for flame crossover - this may cause failures down the road. It is a good idea to have your furnace inspected annually (in this case to clean the burners) to possibly prevent this and other failures.

A gas furnace combustion test is a careful test on your furnace that measures the safety level of carbon monoxide (CO) in your home. This test is important because over time, the heat exchanger in your furnace can become corroded or cracked - which is the case in these pictures.

We realize no one is ready to think about using your furnace... but now is the time to get preventive maintenance scheduled with us! The picture on the left is a heat exchanger on a boiler covered with Asian Beetles, causing the unit to fail. The picture on the right is how your heat exchanger should look. Every furnace/boiler, heat pump and air conditioner should be checked every other year, if not annually to avoid unit failures - manufacturer warranties will not cover this type of damage.
