Set your thermostat to 78°F when you're home.

Not 72°F. Not 74°F. 78°F.

Here's the math: every degree you raise your thermostat saves roughly 3% on your cooling costs. The difference between 72°F and 78°F is 18% of your cooling bill. In Houston where your AC runs 8+ hours a day, that's real money every month.

Does 78°F feel warm at first? Yes. Give it 20-30 minutes. Your body adjusts. And once you see the difference in your electric bill, you'll never go back to 72°F.

If you can't remember — it's time.

A clogged filter makes your system work 15% harder, drives up your electric bill, reduces cooling performance, and can trigger safety shutdowns at the worst possible time.

In Houston summer, filters need to be changed every 30-60 days. That's it. No tools required. Under $20 at any hardware store.

Don't know your filter size? Check the side of your current filter — it's printed right on it.
