Congratulations Jaime for being recognized by WEF!

WEF Member spotlight: Jamie Davidson!

After losing a (high school) mayoral race, Jaime Davidson was named city engineer, which involved a job shadowing experience with a real-life professional. Fast forward to adulthood where Davidson has started her own engineering firm, which has since grown to a team of 30.

Her decision to launch and grow a woman-owned engineering firm stands out. According to 2020 data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, women comprise just 16% of the engineering workforce. Business ownership reflects a similar imbalance, with women owning about 22% of United States-employer businesses, per a 2022 survey from the U.S. Census Bureau.

Time flies when you are having fun! Happy 11th Anniversary to us!

JMD was excited to participate in Day with an Engineer recently, sponsored by the Buffalo Section of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) and the Girl Scouts of Western New York. We built a model to demonstrate where water goes when you flush your toilet and when it rains! The girls really enjoyed "flushing" yellow water and chocolate sprinkles 💩 down the sewer and seeing it go through the "treatment plant"!
