With extremely low temperatures and snow on the way, now is the time to prep your home and avoid frozen or burst water lines. A few simple steps now can save you from major repairs later!

Here’s how to protect your plumbing:

✅ 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘂𝗰𝗲𝘁𝘀 - Letting water slowly drip keeps pipes from freezing.
✅ 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿𝘀 - Especially under sinks and near lines on exterior walls to let warm air circulate.
✅𝗖𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘂𝗰𝗲𝘁𝘀 - Use insulated covers or wrap them with towels.
✅ 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲𝘀 – And shut off outdoor water lines if possible.
✅ 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗶𝗽𝗲𝘀 – Crawl spaces, basements, garages, and exterior walls are high-risk
✅ 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗽𝗲, make sure it’s working and plugged in if necessary.
✅ 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗵𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗲 – Just in case an emergency happens.

If a pipe freezes:
🚫 Do NOT use open flames
✔️ Use warm air (hair dryer, space heater, heating pad)
