Volu-Sol's Urinary Sediment Stain is a stabilized modification of the Sternheimer-Malbin Stain (SM stain). This solution is a commonly used supravital stain. WBC's, epithelial cells, and casts stain well with SM stain. Volu-Sol's Urinary Sediment Stain can be used directly from the bottle. This solution comes in a variety of sizes. 30 mL of Urinary Sediment Stain is sufficient for approximately 700 slides. The solution is supplied in a convenient dropper bottle.

Each kit comes with equal amounts of Crystal Violet Stain, Gram's Iodine Solution Stabilized, Gram's Decolorizer, and Safranin O Stain. Volu-Sol's Hematology Buffer is formulated for use with Wright's Stain and Wright-Giemsa stain in staining procedures. This phosphate buffer can also be used with the Alcoholic-Giemsa Stain for chromosomes. This solution has a controlled pH (6.8) and buffering capacity, which gives superior staining results.

Volu-Sol Stat Stain is a proprietary mixture to rapidly stain blood smears (10-15 seconds) and bone marrow (20-30 seconds). Yields excellent color intensity and morphological differentiation. Eliminates many of the steps involved in the Wright's staining procedure; it includes the buffer within the stain. Blood smears take less than a minute from start to finish. Available in both Wright-Giemsa (Stat Stain) and Wright's (Statim Stain) formulations.
