KS Aviation Expo 2013-2014

KS Aviation Expo 2013-2014 The Kansas Aviation Expo is the official event that brings together all aspects of aviation related businesses in the state of Kansas.

Like this page to learn more info about this upcoming event. The 2014 Kansas Aviation features the Fly Kansas Air Tour. This year we’re taking our show on the road...or to the air! Three days, three stops per day. Each stop will feature a different aspect of aviation in Kansas; and we’ll have local school kids at each location. We’ll be carrying the message — aviation is for everyone. Day 1, Fly K

ansas Air Tour, Monday September 22:
The Fly Kansas Air Tour will start-up at Wellington Municipal Airport, EGT. The Secretary of the Kansas Department of Transportation, along with other dignitaries will be present at the event which will also feature the local high school band. Air Tour pilots will then travel to the Hutchinson Municipal Air-port, HUT, where transportation will be provided to the Kansas Cosmosphere. The group will enjoy lunch and be able to talk about the excitement of aviation with local school kids that are participating in a museum event. By early evening, the Air Tour will arrive at the Dodge City Regional Airport, DDC. This stop will focus on the role the airport plays in the community, and highlight the helicopter training program offered by Universal Helicopters and Dodge City Community College. Day 2, Fly Kansas Air Tour, Tuesday September 23:
Tuesday morning, the tour will travel to the Scott City Municipal Airport, TQK, and will feature the Spencer Flight Training and Education Center and their Red Bird full-motion flight simulator. The afternoon stop will land at the Salina Regional Airport, SLN, and will feature a broad array of aviation topics, including but not limited to unmanned aerial vehicles and military activity. The day will wrap up with an evening event at the Topeka Billard Air-port, TOP, and will feature the Aviation Explorer’s Post, Kansas Highway Patrol and the Civil Air Patrol. Day 3, Fly Kansas Air Tour, Wednesday September 24:
On day three, the tour will fly-in to the Pittsburg Atkinson Municipal Airport, PTS, and feature the role business aviation plays at airports. In the afternoon, the tour will stop at the Independence Municipal Airport, IDP, where we’ll discuss the importance of aircraft manufacturing, and Cessna will provide a manufacturing facility tour to limited registrants. The Air Tour will wind down Wednesday evening, at the Stearman Field Airport, 1K1 where we’ll relax and prepare for the Kansas Aviation Expo. Day 4, The Flying Classroom
Thursday September 25:
Approximately 400 high school students from the Wichita area will be invited out to NCAT to learn about career opportunities in aviation and help kick off the global tour of Barrington Irving’s Flying Classroom, a business jet transformed into a virtual classroom that highlights the importance of STEM education. Thursday Evening Reception:
Amelia Rose Earhart will share stories of her recent round the world adventure, symbolically completing her namesake’s flight from 1937. Amelia, president of the Fly With Amelia Foundation, is encouraging young girls to discover opportunities in aviation by providing flight-training scholarships and education. Day 5, Kansas Aviation Expo,
Business Sessions
Friday September 26:
Following the success of last years inaugural Kansas Aviation Expo,
various speakers will engage the audience with timely topics of interest
to all members of the Kansas aviation family. From avionics to

The Fly Kansas Foundation’s mission is to develop and encourage educational programs that promote the aviation industry in Kansas to young students.

The 2014 Kansas Aviation Expo & Fly Kansas Air Tour reached out to 900 students across the state with the help of 40 different aircraft and 60 dedicated pilots. The week of events also included the Flying Classroom which brought 300 students from the Wichita area to the National Center for Aviation Training. All of these kids heard the same message throughout the week: never take no for an answer, never let someone else set your own expectations, and consider aviation as a career choice.

We enjoyed a special evening with Amelia Rose Earhart at our evening reception. Thanks to everyone for making it such an enjoyable event.

Fly With Amelia Foundation President, pilot, earth-rounder and speaker extraordinaire Amelia Rose Earhart captivated tonight's audience. She reminded us that when you embark on your own, personal adventure, you affect others, too. Little girls and boys – and big ones, too – followed her round-the-world trip honoring her namesake's never-completed 1937 journey. What could your adventure be?
