I could not say this better myself:

"I was reflecting on life a few days ago and I realized something. To me, it’s important and it sets my approach to the day, each day.

“I’m living in the greatest country on Earth – itself a collection from all the peoples of the Earth – at the greatest time in history to be alive.”

That doesn’t mean that freedom isn’t messy; it is. It doesn’t mean that life is without risk.

There is no life absent the promise of death.

It’s our Independence Day. Free yourself from fear, anxiety and outrage. Be thankful.

As a US manufacturer, we are not much affected by Tariffs. We buy 95% of our LEDs from Japan, and almost everything else is US-sourced. We are proud to say that we will not need to increase prices due to tariffs, because of our Make it better in the USA commitment for the last 35 years.

Have a happy and safe USA birthday. Here are some tips from our friends at the Annapolis Boat shows:

Have a Happy Fourth of July
Whether you're going out to watch the fireworks, planning a picnic on the water, or using the day off for a fishing trip, Independence Day is the busiest day of the year for America’s recreational boaters. Here are four tips to ensure you and your crew have a happy (and safe) July Fourth holiday – courtesy of the BoatUS Foundation.
1) Be Smart at Anchor.
Before heading out, make sure your anchoring gear is up to s***f. You may not have used it yet this boating season, so be sure your anchoring arrangement is good to go. When arriving to your celebration spot and setting anchor, ensure you let out enough scope for the depth and predicted weather conditions. Show some courtesy if things get crowded.

2) Be Mindful of CO.
Generators give boaters the creature comforts they want. However, don’t run the generator if you’ve got swimmers in the water at the back of the boat – a common place for guests to congregate on floats and pool toys. This is where exhaust ports are often located, spewing dangerous, odorless carbon monoxide.
3) Don't Stress It

Be careful with stressors including noise, vibration, sun, wind, waves and other motion. U.S. Coast Guard research shows that four hours of exposure to these can produce a kind of fatigue, or "boater's hypnosis," which slows reaction time almost as much as alcohol.

For your boat, don’t stress your battery playing music all day. TowBoatUS reports calls to its 24-hour dispatch for battery jump services spike just after the firework shows end.

4) Get Home Safely.
Before departing an anchorage, wait to turn on the engine until everyone is back aboard and ladder is up. If you’re leaving a fireworks show, proceed with the utmost caution. It’s always better to wait a few minutes for everyone to clear out and for wakes to subside before departing. Everyone aboard should be acting as a lookout.

Jims's quote below is worth re-posting:

"Today, we’re about to commence the Memorial Day weekend. Despite the sales on everything recreational from boats to billiard tables, this is not the commemoration of the first weekend of summer. Sure, many will enjoy opportunities to get outside and enjoy sunshine, cicadas and some stress-free downtime, but that’s a byproduct of the efforts of others.
Memorial Day is the time we take to remember those who fought -and died- for our country.

For many of us, it’s a solemn commemoration. I lost close friends in Vietnam. Since then, many of you have lost friends, neighbors, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters in a variety of places in the GWOT.
The people we remember this weekend aren’t those who made it back. Memorial Day is to remember the ones who fell to defend the rest of us. Whether they fell in Lexington and Concord, or Kabul or Kuwait City, they didn’t ask to die. But they didn’t shirk from their duties. They truly did give that “last full measure” for freedom.

Our freedom. Not theirs.

Our time of remembrance should be spent pondering what we, the living, can do that is worthy of the price they paid. Instead of complaining of what we lack, we should celebrate what we have. Were it not for their sacrifice, I promise you all our lives would be very different....
..Here’s my suggestion for how better to celebrate this solemn weekend.

Instead of worrying about the geopolitical state of the world, concentrate on your world.
Don’t fret over things you can’t change, but don’t think you can’t change the world. The world isn’t changed in the blink of an eye, it’s changed in tiny slices.
Be one of those slices.
This weekend, go commit a random act of kindness. Better yet, go on a kindness spree.
Be the person who changes someone else’s world for the better.
The best way to honor those who sacrificed for us is to show them we appreciate the price they paid, and by paying it forward.
Do that by nurturing the good, not fixating on the bad."
