Your ceiling fan should spin counterclockwise in summer.

That pushes air downward to help you feel cooler. Just remember fans cool people not rooms, so turn them off when you leave.

It’s a simple change that can improve comfort and save energy.

Power has been restored to everyone. Thank you to our customers for your patience and to our employees for your hard work!

We have 105 customers without power and 12 outage locations. There is a broken pole south of Rutherford, making repairs time-intensive for that location. Crews are continuing to work and will restore service to everyone as quickly as they safely can. We appreciate our customers' patience.

This afternoon's storms have caused outages to customers' homes and businesses across Gibson Electric's service area. Crews have reduced the number affected from over 800 to 150. Currently they are located in Obion County, Gibson County and Crockett County. Crews have been dispatched and will restore service as quickly as possible.

You can report an outage easily by selecting "Report Power Outage" near the top of the Gibson Co-ops app. You can also see our outage map by selecting "Power Outage Map."

Anchor(s) Aweigh!

Our Washington Youth Tour delegates and chaperone just boarded the bus to rendezvous with their fellow West Tennessee delegates and spend the night in Nashville. Tomorrow morning, they're off to our nation's capital and a weeklong adventure. They'll meet high school seniors from across the country, soak up American history, learn leadership skills and make friendships to last a lifetime.

Join us in wishing our delegates — Addison Funderburk, Noah Mayfield, Anna Fawcett, Brooklyn Dunn, Aaliyah Shell, Harlee Johnson and Lily McCaig — and our member service specialist — Sarah Williams — safe travels!

When you see one of our trucks rolling down the highway, you may not think about the team working behind the scenes to keep our fleet running safely and reliably. It's a big job that often goes unseen.

On Automotive Professionals Day, we’re proud to recognize Mechanic Crewleader Philip Jewell and Mechanics Greg Hunt and Elliott Bauer for their vital contributions to our team.

Thanks to them, the vehicles our crews depend on are properly maintained, routinely inspected and ready to respond, helping us deliver safe, reliable service to our customers.

Tonight's outage in our Kentucky service area was caused when farming equipment hung a guy wire. Power has been restored. We appreciate our crews' quick response and thank our customers for their patience.
