ATTENTION:

We are starting to get a rise in calls asking about making modifications to building of the Mosquito Helicopter. Our recommendation is to build the helicopter per the instructions in the Builders Manual. These modifications that are floating around social media have not been tested. With as many as 400+ Mosquito kits sold we feel our track record speaks for itself. While some modifications may seem to be a good idea many of the people suggesting them are unaware of all the reasoning for avoiding changes to our recommendation to follow the procedures as listed in the Builders Manual.

While these are “Ultralight/experimental” helicopters, the best way to insure a successful build is to build the helicopter as recommended by Composite-FX. These unauthorized modifications can cause damage to the helicopters structural integrity/mechanical operation that may cause personal injury or even death. Composite-FX has attended Oshkosh/EAA’s AirVenture for the past 22 years. This year for the 2026 show we as a company will not be attending. Roughly three year ago there was an accident between two rotorcraft resulting in multiple fatalities. Since then the EAA has limited any demonstration of our aircraft to pattern fly-by only leaving us no way to “showcase” the abilities of our aircraft.

Each year we as a company we not only spend tens of thousands of dollars but also interrupt our production schedule for at least three weeks to attend this event that results in no sales. We sponsor our own “Trenton Fly-In” held in April each year at our grass airstrip in Florida. Our event resembles what the EAA use to be. An event where all are welcome, there are places to camp, factory tours, concession stands, merchandise, other vendors, you mix with all attendees, and it is affordable!

From a financial standpoint, over the past few years we have had no purchases of helicopters during Oshkosh while consistently making sales of our helicopters at our event. Although Composite-FX will not have its usual spot at Oshkosh this year, our dealers will be there representing their businesses and our company, the “foot print” will be a little smaller.
