The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Federal Small Business Conference returns this year in Charlotte, North Carolina. Known as the “Strategic Business Connection of the Year,” the conference is designed to foster partnerships between small businesses, federal agencies, prime contractors, and industry partners working across the architecture, engineering, construction, environmental, and facility management sectors. Through educational sessions, agency briefings, and networking events, attendees gain valuable insights into federal acquisition priorities, upcoming contract opportunities, and emerging industry trends.

The conference also features an exhibit hall and opportunities for one-on-one engagement with federal decision-makers and potential teaming partners. Princeton Hydro joined SAME as a sustaining member in 2018. We are excited to be exhibiting this year, so if you’re attending, swing by our booth ( #937)!

Harmful algal blooms can produce toxins, threaten people and wildlife, deplete oxygen, and disrupt recreation. Princeton Hydro works with communities and partners to monitor HABs, assess water quality, and evaluate management approaches.

Not every takeover needs a horror soundtrack. 🌾🎃

Invasive Phragmites can spread quickly and crowd out native wetland vegetation. At Swartswood State Park, Princeton Hydro’s field team supported NJ Department of Environmental Protection -led invasive species management through targeted seed-head removal to help limit its spread and support long-term wetland restoration.

Princeton Hydro and the Regional Science Consortium are collaborating on a technology demonstration project in Presque Isle Bay, funded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Engineer Research and Development Center (USACE ERDC), to evaluate a non-pesticidal approach for managing harmful algal blooms.

Building on more than a decade of HAB monitoring and local knowledge from the Regional Science Consortium, the demonstration is examining the use of laponite, a synthetic nanoscale clay that physically binds with cyanobacterial cells and helps remove them from the water column through coagulation, flocculation, and settling to bottom sediments, where natural biological and environmental processes contribute to their breakdown.

Using limnocorrals installed in Perry’s Landing, the team can compare treated and untreated conditions while closely tracking how the technology performs in the bay.

We’re proud to celebrate two honors from the New Jersey Association for Floodplain Management!

At the 2026 NJAFM Annual Conference, Princeton Hydro President and Co-Founder Geoffrey M. Goll, PE, received the Excellence in Floodplain Management Leadership Award, while the Lake Hudsonia Dam Removal & Hibernia Brook Restoration Project received the Outstanding Floodplain Management Project or Program Award.

These recognitions celebrate both decades of leadership in the floodplain management profession and the collaborative work helping restore natural systems and strengthen watershed resilience across New Jersey.

Congratulations to Geoff, Rockaway Township, our project partners, and all of this year’s NJAFM award recipients!

On November 12, the The Hudson River Foundation's 2026 NY-NJ Harbor & Estuary Program Conference will bring together environmental professionals, researchers, and community leaders around this year’s theme, “Shared Work, Lasting Impact: Cultivating Effective Partnerships.”

Princeton Hydro Landscape Architect Jamie Feinstein, RLA, will participate in the poster session, highlighting the collaborative work behind Kearny Riverbank Park and the shared vision developed by Princeton Hydro, the Town of Kearny, NY-NJ HEP, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for a more accessible, resilient, and ecologically enhanced Passaic River shoreline.

Through its statewide work, Massachusetts Rivers Alliance helps advance healthier rivers and streams by supporting water quality, streamflow, wildlife habitat, and investment in green infrastructure.

Princeton Hydro is also glad to participate in the organization’s Dam Busters program, which connects dam removal practitioners with resources and knowledge to help move successful restoration projects forward. Princeton Hydro’s Dr. Fred Lubnow, Senior Technical Director of Ecological Services will be presenting at the Maryland Water Monitoring Council’s 32nd Annual Conference, “Connecting the Drops: Watersheds, Data, and People,” on November 19 at the DoubleTree Conference Center in Pikesville, Maryland.

Bringing together water professionals, researchers, policymakers, and community scientists from across the region, this year’s conference will explore the connections between water monitoring, data, watershed management, and the communities these efforts serve.

Fred will join the conference’s Lakes II session to present “A Review of the Limnology of Reservoirs and Impoundments”

We’re excited to see Fred sharing his expertise with Maryland’s water monitoring community and joining a full day of conversations around lakes, restoration, water quality, stormwater, and watershed science!

Princeton Hydro team members will be joining water resource professionals from across the country at the American Water Resources Association 2026 Annual Water Resources Conference!

This year’s theme, “Moving Beyond 250: Crossing Boundaries to Build a More Water-Secure Future,” will guide discussions on PFAS, stormwater management, stream and wetland restoration, flood mitigation, data and modeling, artificial intelligence, and other issues shaping the future of water resources management.

We’re looking forward to participating in the conference and connecting with others across the field!
