Choosing the right filtration product involves more than matching specifications.

Process conditions, airflow velocity, dust characteristics, and collector design all influence filter performance.

Understanding these variables helps facilities achieve more consistent results.

Balanced Systems Perform Better

Filtration systems perform best when airflow, cleaning cycles, and dust discharge operate in balance.

When one part of the system falls out of alignment, performance can suffer across the entire process.

Maintaining system balance supports long-term filtration performance.

A new set of filter bags doesn’t guarantee good performance unless the system itself is ready.

Before startup, it’s important to review airflow conditions, cleaning settings, hopper discharge systems, and sealing surfaces. Even small issues can affect how new bags perform once the system returns to operation.
Taking the time to verify these conditions helps protect the new filters and supports a smoother startup.

A filter bag that isn’t sealed correctly at the tubesheet isn’t filtering — it’s bypassing.

Even small gaps at the snap-band connection can allow dust to pass directly into the clean air plenum. When that happens, the symptoms often show up as unexpected emissions, dirty plenums, or differential pressure readings that don’t make sense.

That’s why proper installation matters just as much as the filter itself.
During bag changeouts, take the extra moment to confirm the snap-band is fully seated and sealed against the tubesheet. A secure fit helps ensure the filtration system performs the way it was designed.
At Menardi Filters, we work closely with maintenance teams to make sure every component — from filter media to installation — supports reliable system performance.

☕ Sometimes performance comes down to the details.

Menardi Recognized by Pratt Industries for Environmental Impact

Menardi Filters is proud to share that we received a 2026
Environmental Impact Award from Pratt Industries in recognition of our use of packaging made from Pratt Industries’ 100% recycled paper.

In 2025, Menardi’s use of this recycled packaging contributed to an estimated environmental impact that includes water savings, energy savings, landfill reduction, tree preservation, and carbon dioxide prevention.

And while numbers like gallons, kilowatt-hours, and cubic yards can feel a little abstract, here’s what that impact looks like in everyday terms:

Environmental Impact: What That Means in Everyday Terms:

172,690 gallons of water saved
That is enough water for more than 10,000 average showers, based on the EPA’s estimate that an average shower uses a little over 16 gallons of water. (epa.gov)

419 trees saved
Picture a small neighborhood park filled with trees — that is the kind of visual this number represents.

98,680 kWh of power saved
That is enough electricity to power about 114 average U.S. homes for one month, using the EIA’s 2024 U.S. average of 863 kWh per month.

81 cubic yards diverted from landfill
That is roughly equal to eight large 10-yard dumpsters of material kept out of the landfill.

25 tons of CO₂ prevented
That is roughly comparable to avoiding the emissions from driving an average passenger vehicle more than 56,000 miles, based on EPA estimates of about 400 grams of CO₂ per mile. (epa.gov)

For our team, this recognition is more than an award. It is a reflection of Menardi’s ongoing commitment to thoughtful operations, responsible sourcing, and continuous improvement — not only in the filtration products we provide, but in the way we do business.

Small choices add up. And together, they make a measurable impact.

Hoppers are often overlooked when filtration problems appear. However, poor dust evacuation can significantly affect system performance.

When dust accumulates in the hopper, it can re-entrain into the airflow and return to the filter bags. This increases loading, raises differential pressure, and reduces cleaning efficiency.

Consistent hopper discharge helps maintain stable airflow conditions and supports reliable filtration performance.
