Since 1970, we have perfected the automation process through engineering high precision rotary index tables and precision indexing machines. Our fixed and flexible indexers have operated in various industries; sometimes running 15 years or more, without having one minute of downtime resulting from any type of failure from our equipment. Developments in standard and custom engineered indexing technology continues to lead us to growth in many different industries and products. Our company has grown to include not only rotary index tables but also precision link conveyors, linear transfer systems, weld positioners, custom built weldments and complementary components.

A Robot Transfer Unit (RTU) adds a linear 7th axis, allowing an industrial robot to travel between multiple workstations, machines or processes while expanding its usable working envelope.

This custom Robot Transfer Unit (RTU) was engineered for a major defense contractor requiring precise, reliable robotic movement over a 4-meter stroke. Designed around a fabricated and machined steel structure, the system features:

• 5,500 lb moving load capacity per carriage

• 4,000 mm transfer stroke

• Up to 0.5 m/sec transfer speed

• Hardened and ground gear rack

• Low-backlash servo reducer

• Custom robot carriage and riser

• Automatic lubrication for rack & pinion and linear guides

• Integrated cable management

• Hard stops and overtravel protection
