Project Spotlight: Esmond Station K-8 School

Building a school is one thing. Building one that feels like it belongs somewhere is another.

When Lloyd Construction partnered with Vail Unified School District to build Esmond Station K-8, the site came with history. A railroad bed ran through the property, and instead of working around it, the team embraced it. The campus took on a full railroad theme, including a 50-foot custom trestle bridge built and donated by Lloyd, and a 100-year-old railroad foreman's house relocated onto campus to be preserved and restored.

Students don't just learn in this building. They learn something about where they come from.

Today is National Forklift Safety Day. 🚧

Forklift safety is one of the many ways Lloyd keeps our crews safe across all jobsites. That means certified operators, pre-shift inspections, and a team that takes OSHA standards seriously every single day.

Tucson, this one is for you. 🌏❤️

We are thrilled to share that Lloyd Construction has been honored with the 2026 MPA Common Ground Award for our work on the Pathway to Asia expansion at Reid Park Zoo! 🏆

This award recognizes projects that bring communities together through collaboration and creativity. And that is exactly what this project has been from day one. Working alongside the City of Tucson, Reid Park Zoological Society, and an incredible team of partners to build something truly special for this community has been one of our greatest honors.

We can't wait for Tucson families to experience Pathway to Asia when it opens in 2026. 🌿🐾

This week is National CPR & AED Awareness Week, and it's a great reminder of something we take seriously every day at Lloyd Construction.

We regularly host CPR training courses with certified instructors so our team is ready to respond if a medical emergency ever occurs on one of our jobsites. Construction is a demanding environment, and we do everything in our power to prevent incidents before they happen. But preparation doesn't stop at prevention. CPR and emergency response training means our people have the skills and confidence to act when it counts most.

At Lloyd Construction, Safety is our #1 value, and that means investing in our team from the ground up, from the measures we take to keep everyone safe on site, to making sure they're equipped to look out for each other no matter what.

Project Spotlight: City of Tucson Fire Stations 5 & 17

When a fire station gets remodeled, the work doesn't stop. The crews don’t either.

Lloyd Construction is proud to have completed renovation and expansion work at two City of Tucson fire stations, delivering modernized facilities for the men and women who protect our community around the clock.

At both stations, our team completed comprehensive updates including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, along with dorm expansions, ADA compliance upgrades, decontamination facility improvements, and restroom renovations. At Station 5, the scope extended further with a new garage extension, concrete pad, and earthwork including storm drainage and a retaining wall.

These are places where firefighters sleep, train, and prepare for the calls that demand everything they have. We're proud to support the City of Tucson and the first responders who serve it every day.

In the news: Arizona's community colleges answer one of the state's biggest workforce challenges, one credential at a time.

Gov. Hobbs just expanded the ReadyTechGo Initiative, connecting students across the state to careers in electric vehicles, semiconductors, robotics, and aerospace at employers. Lloyd Construction is proud to partner with both Pima Community College and Lucid Motors, building the modern facilities where Arizonans gain the skills to advance their careers.

Canstruction Tucson is one month away, and we couldn't be more excited to compete!

On June 27, Lloyd Construction will team up with BWS Architects and Zona Technical Engineering to build a larger-than-life sculpture made entirely out of canned goods at Park Place Mall, all benefiting the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.

Last year, we built the Great Wall of China. This year's theme is Fun & Games.

Come see the finished sculpture at Park Place Mall from June 27 through July 10, and help fight hunger while you're there. Every People's Choice vote requires a donation to the Community Food Bank.
