The company gained popularity in the market with the release of the original VLTOR Modstock. In 2004, VLTOR was bought out by a precision sheetmetal and CNC machining company called Abrams Airborne Manufacturing, Inc. Despite the severe tungsten shortage, we’ve been cranking out more VLTOR A5 buffers than ever. Navigating the logistics for this has been quite tricky. Doing our best to keep you guys supplied. Huge run just went out to MidwayUSA, OpticsPlanet, Revival Defense, Primary Arms Online, Brownells, Inc., RSR Group, DirtyBird Industries, and more.

Packed up more of our “FRC” partial ARCA handguards, in 12” and 15” lengths. These side and bottom views help showcase the placement of the ARCA and stop features, as well as the omitted slots on the bottom 45s for increased rigidity. Awesome handguards. Black hardcoat ano on this run.

Here's an example of a build utilizing the VLTOR FRC-12 handguard from our last post. A few of you messaged wanting to see it in the context of a complete SBR.

We make many of our handguards both with and without an integral handstop feature up front. Several of us here at the shop have developed a preference for the handstop versions, especially on the shorter handguard lengths. This is our 10” with handstop (actual OAL around 10 3/4”) shown with an 11.5” barrel.

A lot of you are sleeping on what is arguably the better of the two A5 receiver extension tubes we make. And we just made a whole bunch of them. Generally speaking, our most popular tube is our 7-position RE-A5 (receiver extension - A5), but the one we are talking about today is our 6-position RE-A5SR (receiver extension - A5 short rail). It’s the exact same length and depth as the 7-position tube, and serves the same purpose - the difference is in the length of the indexing rail on the underside of the tube. The choice on which tube to go with is majorly dictated by which stock you’ll be running. The RE-A5SR is better for a large number of the stocks on the market. If you’ve ever run a standard body stock (VLTOR Imod, LMT/B5 Sopmod, etc) on our 7-position RE-A5, you’ve noticed it can’t collapse to position #1 on the tube. Only extra large stocks like the VLTOR Emod can accomplish that. This is NOT true of the RE-A5SR tube. Standard body stocks can fully collapse to position #1 on that tube.

Pic 2 shows the Emod collapsed to position 1 on the RE-A5, next to the smaller Imod collapsed to 1 on the RE-A5SR. Pic 3 shows an LMT Sopmod collapsed as far as it can go on the RE-A5 - and as you can see it stops at position 2, unable to reach position 1. Pic 4 shows the same LMT Sopmod successfully collapsed all the way to position 1 on the RE-A5SR. Pic 5 shows the undersides of the tubes so you can see the difference in the rail lengths.

There are more nuances to this, but this is the general picture. A whole heck of a lot of you would be better served by the RE-A5SR tube. We’ll make a video to help showcase in more detail.

Ash popping in to say Congrats to Brandon and the other lucky folks! It’s been a blast running this event. Thanks to Freedom Fried Father and for hosting, and for all their help with the logistics. It was actually pretty difficult to pull this off. Keep an eye out for more events happening throughout the year. The VLTOR team has all kinds of fun stuff in the works.

The very first batch of “Null” ano FRC-15 rails are up. The FRC-15 is a 15” handguard with an integral rear ARCA segment, and an integral handstop up front. Plated in our undyed type 3 hardcoat colorway we call “Null”. Many of you already have “Null” MUR uppers that have been patiently waiting. The color on these is similar to the color of the deflector module on the MUR, as they are both 6000 series material. It’s more gray than tan. Very slick little setup.

The end of an era. Just built up the last of our MP-1 “ModPod” legs. Some of you are familiar, some are not. This is a hybrid bipod leg set, somewhat made in conjunction with our longtime friends over at TangoDown. Tango released a bipod set using these legs, but on a central bottom mount. We made separate pic rail clamps for each side so that you can run them on a rig with an underslung launcher, among other things. Unique setup. Wide stance. These are the last components that we can make. When they are gone, they are gone. By default, this also means that we can no longer warranty these legs should any issues arise. There is zero access to components, so keep that in mind.

We caved. Big batch of CASV-EL2s hittin the streets with new (old?) rail markings. Those of you that have been following this page for a while know what a big moment this is. Prophecy fulfilled.
