In 1985 two men, exploring Australia's far North, stumbled upon a gemstone the likes of which had never been seen before. Rainbow Lattice was identified at the GIA and declared a new gem variety in 1989. Whilst the initial testing of the stones inclusions conducted in 1989 concluded that the inclusions were made up of ilmenite (for the black blades and triangles) and hematite (for the orange plate
lets). With the advancement in technology over the last 3 decades, a recently conducted more in depth analysis has found the black blades and triangle inclusions in Rainbow Lattice to be magnetite. Visit our website for more in depth information on the gem and our mining practices.
