We are pleased to be able to announce our next project on today, Veterans day. At the request of the City of Chicago, we will soon begin to dismantle and scrap German U-Boat 505.

U-505 is a German Type IXC submarine built for Germany's Kriegsmarine during World War II. She was captured by the United States Navy on 4 June 1944. Eventually she was given to the city of Chicago and placed in the Museum of Science and Industry.

The city of Chicago asked us to scrap it because they believe the best gift they can give to the few remaining WW2 veterans for Veterans day. They are hoping that removing this symbol of N**i Germany will bring great relief to them and the nation in general.

In place of the U-Boat, they will be creating a new exhibit to celebrate the success of Antifa movements here and across the globe.

Tomorrow we will be announcing a huge project, just in time to celebrate veterans day. Make sure to stop by for the announcement tomorrow!

We are pleased to announce that we have brokered a deal with the Walt Disney Company to scrap the famous Liberty Belle. As some of you may know, the Rivers of America attraction was recently shut down at Disney's Magic Kingdom in Florida, so they can build an entirely near, cars themed attraction.

Unsure what to do with the Liberty Belle now that it is no longer needed, they have reached out to us to scrap it as soon as possible so work can continue on the new part of the park.

Once we are done with the work, we plan to sell commemorative bits of it to Disney collectors, mainly the parts that have little to no scrap value, since they are happy with anything Disney.

We plan to begin work early next week once our owner is done enjoying his free Disney world vacation that he has earned through all his hard work for the company.

As we are sure you all have heard, the Man known to many as "Ross Rowland" has passed away. A well known figure in the industry, there are those that will miss him and his well known opinions are preserved for future generations thanks to the power of the internet.

His love for C&O 614 is well known. Originally the 614 was supposed to be restored to operation, but we've been contacted to instead scrap it. The reason for this is that some people feel it appropriate he be buried with his beloved locomotive. Once we are done scrapping it, someone of the metal will be used to make a special metal coffin that Ross will eventually be buried in. This way he will forever be with his engine.

The remaining scrap will be sold off and used to create a special scholarship for woman and people of color, to help encourage them to become a part of the rail preservation industry.

We are pleased to announce that we are partnering with Kentucky Steam Heritage Corp. to bring you a brand new project.

Kentucky Steam Heritage Corp has recently developed plans for a brand new coal-slurry fuel, which they plan to harness on future projects. In order to help fund this project we've been contracted into scrapping L&N 7067, a GE C30-7 locomotive.

To help generate addition funds for the project, we've agreed to sell the scrapped parts off the locomotive to the country of Estonia. They currently use a fleet of aging C30-7 that they desperately need parts to keep their locomotives running, and are willing to pay top dollar for the scrap.

We hope to keep you updated as the project commences.

It's that time of year folks, where everyone is trying to do some spring cleaning and Amtrak is no different.

Amtrak recently discovered that many of their Horizon cars have severe corrosion and many other major mechanical defects. This prompted them to immediately remove all horizon cars from service.

Due to the costs of repair and rapidly shrinking budget, Amtrak has decided to have the entire set of horizon cars scrapped for the safety of their 20 or so regular customers. We are happy they chose up for their scrapping needs and are eagerly awaiting the day when we can scrap the rest of their fleet.

Good afternoon to our friends and colleagues on various parts of the spectrum.

Today we are pleased to announce we are taking up a scrapping contract on behalf of Steamtown National Historic Site. This time we will be scrapping the Union Pacific Big Boy #4012 that they currently have on display.

Due to recent rulings by The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Steamtown was forced to let all probationary employees go. A recent ruling by a judge has forced Steamtown to reverse course and rehire all recently let go employees. Due to this sudden financial strain they have been forced to look for funds to pay everyone.

Luckily that's where we come in, the money generated from the scrapping the engine will go to paying all those employees. We estimate we will be able to generate enough profit for both US and Steamtown, they will be able to pay all those employees their federal minimum wage.

We already have a buyer for most of the scrap. The Tesla company has stated they wish to buy the scrap to help reinforce their factories which are under threat of violence from "fanatics".

Public Service Announcement: We will no longer be accepting Cybertrucks for scrapping at any of our sites from now on.

The reason for this is that they have little to no value as scrap, even brand new. The parts on them are of such low quality we would be offended having it near our scrap piles. Please dispose in landfills where they belong.

We hope everyone is enjoying 2025 so far, we here at Sawenhalve Scrap are eager to get back to scrapping. Today's scrap project from one of our regular customers, the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.

They are currently working on building a new shop solely for their diesel locomotives. Unfortunately they are limited in room in the yard and have no place to store all their current locomotives while it's being built. The decision was made to scrap the locomotive pictured to make room in the yard so it will not affect operations while the shop is being built.

We've been asked to save several parts of it to be used as replacement parts for the remaining diesel locomotives. We will be turning the remainder into a Virtual simulator where people will be able to experience a train crash first hand! We eagerly look forward to the day we can share more.

Good evening folks.

We've gone ahead and removed the previous post involving 2816 and its trip to Mexico. At the time of the post the author had no idea about the fatality that happened today. Only finding out by some of your comments on the post.

With that being said we wish to make the statement as follows:

First we would like to express our condolences to the crew of the 2816 that was involved in the fatality. Such a thing was outside their control and they will have that death on their conscience for a long time to come.

However, we do not in any way shape or form have sympathy or compassion for the woman who died. She was not a victim of a tragic accident, she put herself in that position. This incident could have been entirely prevented if she had paid attention to how close she was to the tracks. Now her decision to stray too close to the tracks will have lasting repercussions on her family and the crew of the train that struck her.

For those of you that like to railfan and chase train, I implore you not to put yourself in the position that this woman did. You getting hurt and killed just to get the perfect picture will not hurt just you. Please be safe out there.

Sometimes our scrap contracts come after months of careful negotiations. Other times we receive surprise contracts that come out of nowhere like today.

We were contracted today by the Federal Railroad Administration to scrap the Blackwell Northern Gateway Railroad in Oklahoma. Yesterday the FRA ordered the railroad to cease all operations due to several major violations and a few "minor" violations.

Due to the nature of the situation, we were asked to immediately scrap all rail equipment that currently belong to the railroad. This is in order to prevent any more issues from happening while the FRA sorts things out.

We've been asked to set aside some of the metal we cut up, in order to be used in a prison that will be built nearby that will be made to hold pedophiles.
