Last chance: GPSA Engineering Data Book Training registration closes Thursday.

Procrastination can be a fine policy, but not this time.

GPA Midstream is bringing the GPSA Engineering Data Book Training to the Permian, Oct. 26-30, at the Claydesta Center in Midland, Texas. If you plan to attend and haven't registered yet, the deadline is 5 p.m. Central on Thursday, Oct. 22.

The GPSA Engineering Data Book is the definitive guidance document for designing, building, operating, and maintaining natural gas processing facilities. This five-day course covers the fundamentals, from the basics through complex calculations. It also shows you how to navigate and use the manual.

Permian managers, registration for the GPSA Engineering Data Book Training closes Thursday, Oct. 22.

The course is in Midland Oct. 26-30. For teams in the Permian, that means no flights and no hotel nights.

At the Claydesta Center, instructors work through the Data Book from the fundamentals to complex calculations, including compression, heat exchangers, fractionation, dehydration and treating. Class runs Monday through Thursday and wraps up at 1 p.m. Friday. Students who pass the final test leave certified in its use.

At the 2026 GPA Midstream Convention, we took time at the Center Stage Luncheon and the Chair's Luncheon to honor the volunteers who move this industry forward.

The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes careers that have left a lasting mark on GPA Midstream, GPSA, and the midstream industry. This year's recipients have each given decades to that work:

That kind of lasting impact also comes from research and teaching. The Donald L. Katz Award honored two leaders for their work on sour gas production chemistry:

GPA Midstream visited the White House this week, advocating for the policies needed to keep America's energy moving.

Our federal affairs team focused on three priorities for the midstream industry:

- Permitting reform
- Pipeline safety reauthorization
- A workable Agricultural Foreign Investment Disclosure Act (AFIDA) framework

The SEC finalized a climate disclosure rule in 2024, paused it a month later, and has now proposed getting rid of it.

GPA Midstream joined more than 40 trade associations — spanning energy, manufacturing, transportation, finance, construction, agriculture, and retail — in a coalition letter supporting the SEC's proposal to rescind the rule.
