Midwest Food Processors Association (MWFPA) hosts a great golf event!

A couple of weeks ago VIRESCO had the opportunity to sponsor a hole at the Trappers Turn golf club in the Wisconsin Dells. There were 220 golfers and the day was spectacular! While the groups were waiting we played co****le for gift cards. I appreciated the time, interest, and conversations I had during the day. I hope they took away one thing, "At VIRESCO, we transform food waste into clean, renewable energy through Anaerobic Digestion." Thank you again Jason Culotta!!

Congratulations Patrick!

We recently celebrated Patrick's 2 year anniversary of working at VIRESCO. As a mechanical engineer with a strong background in electrical and sustainability, Patrick has been an integral part of our business growth. It's worth noting that Patrick is 1 of 4 engineers that work at VIRESCO in Turtle Lake WI. Why is that important? Many of the challenges that anaerobic digesters face is from a lack of proper engineering and not paying enough attention to the operation on a daily basis.

45th Parallel Distillery
A while ago Tim Berndt (Business Development Manager), along with a couple of members of his family had an opportunity to tour the 45th Parallel Distillery in New Richmond, WI. The tour guide was Tobias and he was outstanding. He was so insightful into the history of distilling, the process, as well a lot of fun facts. And the tasting at the end of the tour was even better. I strongly suggest taking the time to visit them, especially if you have any curiosity in distilling. You're probably wondering why we are highlighting 45th Parallel Distillery. In addition to a great place and great people, they are one of our customers. The spent grains are picked up by a local farmer to be fed to his pigs, and the liquid waste is processed and transformed into clean energy by VIRESCO. But from the tour, I also learned that their waste reduction efforts go far beyond just us and sustainability is a very important aspect of their entire business and a story they don't mind sharing. So cheers to the efforts of 45th Parallel, all of our customers, and all of the food manufacturers that choose the highest bar in full-cycle sustainability, WASTE TO ENERGY!

VIRESCO's CEO Joe Burke, and Surya Pidaparti, our chemist and international leading expert in wastewater and Anaerobic Digestion, met with Mike Grob and Mike Smoley from Minnesota Valley Technical Laboratory (MVTL) earlier this week. One of the challenges operating an Anaerobic Digester is keeping the bacteria healthy and working with MVTL to help build the strength and resistance of our bacteria also aids in creating more clean energy from the same input.

Our Plant Manager, Barry Bassett, and I attended the MN Craft Brewers Guild conference for the first time recently at the Union Depot in St. Paul. There was a high level of interest in learning more about alternative means of disposing waste, like Anaerobic Digestion, for those that stopped by our booth. Looking forward to developing a strong and lasting relationship with the Guild!!!

We attended as exhibitors for the first time at the Wisconsin Cheese Maker Association conference, and what a great event! Thank you to all those that took the time to learn more about how we transform food waste into clean, renewable energy via anaerobic digestion. Looking forward to next year!!
