McClure Engineering, Inc. is currently seeking a Licensed Structural Engineer to lead their structural engineering activities and projects. As the lead professional in the structural engineering discipline, the individual will have the following responsibilities:
• Consults with and provides guidance to project stakeholders regarding engineering requirements for construction of designs, modifications, and structural repairs.
• Directs preparation of construction drawings and specifications for a variety of projects.
• Interacts with owners, contractors, and design professionals in meeting project requirements by performing calculations, plan and specifications development, preliminary designs, and final designs for projects.
• Manages client relationships and accounts to build and maintain successful partnerships.
• Interacts with in-house and external professionals in the maintenance of a professional and client-oriented culture which provides outstanding service and reasonable financial returns to owners and employees.
• Provides leadership to engineers and drafting personnel in the performance of design and engineering of structural systems.
• Provides project management services such as scheduling, team meetings, etc. for construction projects.
• Provides close coordination of structural support design for industrial mechanical equipment.
• Provides inspection, quality assurance, and contract coordination services as required for structural designs implemented on projects.
• Performs Structural Analysis design and detail development for all types of structures (industrial, commercial, institutional, and residential) using both manual and computer-based design software (RISA 3d, etc.).
• Prepares technical reports, proposals, and estimates for structural engineering projects.
• Reviews submittals, responds to RFI’s and coordinates with project teams during construction phase.
• Stamping and sealing of design drawings, requested revisions, sketches, or typical details after review and in conformance with applicable code requirements.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
• Structural Engineering (SE) license or Professional Engineering (PE) license in a related discipline. Candidate must possess or be able to obtain licensure in Idaho upon hiring. Licensure in other states as needed.
• Minimum 7-years of experience in the design of foundations, concrete, masonry, wood, and/or steel structures.
• Robust knowledge of local and international codes, standards, and criteria for structural engineering design.
• A strong work ethic and ability to professionally communicate and work with internal and external clients.
• Excellent technical writing skills, and experience with common engineering computer software.
• Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Possesses a working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD software.
• Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software such as RISA products (RISA 3D, Connect, and Floor).
• Experience in a variety of project types from residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET Accredited University.
