More Storms!

Severe thunderstorms are likely Tuesday from North Central Texas northward into Oklahoma eastward into Western Arkansas. Severe storms are also possible across a large part of the Central U.S. as a strong Spring time storm system moves out into the Plains.

The combination of a dry line and a cold front will trigger a large area of showers and thuderstorms across Oklahoma Tuesday afternoon. These storms will move quickly Southeastward and form a line of strong to severe storms that will impact North Texas and Western Arkansas. The primary threat is damaging straight line winds, but some large hail is also possible, along with an isolated tornado.

Severe storms with large hail are likely through the afternoon and evening in Eastern Oklahoma Southward into Central and Eastern Texas. A corridor of elevated risk exist along and east of the I-35 corridor where the best combination of instability, shear and very cold mid-level temperatures are present. Storms that are expected to develop in this area later this afternoon are likely to produce large hail, some hail over 2".

These storms will move eastward overnight night towards Arkansas and Louisiana with a continued hail threat. Some supercells are likely given the environment. A few tornadoes are also possible, particularly across East Texas and Northern Louisiana.

Severe thunderstorms are likely tonight and Wednesday across North and East Texas as a strong upper level disturbance moves through the region and interacts with very unstable air.

The greatest risk is for large hail and damaging winds, however a few tornadoes are possible across Northeast Texas. HAIL:CON values are in the 5 to 7 range from Dallas eastward to Longview.
