It was my great honor to serve as Chairperson for the Scholarship Committee for The Greater Denton County (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated as we proudly awarded $56,000 in scholarships to 15 exceptional students, hosted an inspiring fireside chat with Roland Parrish, and contributed $5000 the Paul Quinn College Endowment—all in one unforgettable day.

I would like to thank President Vivian B-Johnson for the opportunity to serve as chair and Deardra Hayes-Whigham for being a supportive co-chair. Thank you to Zenola Campbell for securing Roland Parrish and a great fireside chat. Thank you to everyone on the committee. A few special shout outs include Cheryl Edwards for those BEAUTIFUL baskets. They were amazing! Thank you to Mitzi S. Wallace-Willis for the lovely certificates and Sheila Taylor-Clark and Dana Tate-Ware
for the decorations. Thank you to immediate past chair Sharen Jackson for answering all my myriad of questions and Kewana Kim Whitaker for media support. And a huge thank you to the entire committee for all the behind the scenes work and hours of pouring over applications and essays. And thank you to all my Link Sisters who showed up and helped out in whatever was needed. Finally thank you to my Connecting Link Richard Hayes who was up with me at 5:00 AM picking up trays and icing down sodas and hauling stuff in and out and setting up the room and just whatever was asked. It takes a village and I so appreciate everyone!

This feels great. These young people are our future!

One year ago, I stood on the stage at *The Pitch* with United Way of Metropolitan Dallas and was honored to be named Most Impactful Social Innovator. What a moment. What a journey.

Today, I’m reflecting with a heart full of gratitude.

To my incredible husband and son - thank you for your unwavering love, patience, and belief in me, even during the long nights and big leaps of faith.

To my family - you are my foundation and my fuel.

To The Learning Bridge team - your passion for our mission and commitment to impact make this work possible every single day.

To my sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and The Links, Incorporated -your sisterhood, encouragement and service continue to inspire me to lead and serve with purpose.

And to United Way of Metropolitan Dallas thank you for creating a platform that uplifts innovators and invests in ideas that truly change lives.

That moment was not just a recognition - it was a reminder that when purpose meets opportunity, impact follows.

Here’s to continuing the work, growing the vision, and making a difference - together.

Had the opportunity to attend the D CEO Business Growth Summit Friday and I left energized and full of ideas.

Loved the real talk around scaling smart, leading through change, and building businesses that are actually sustainable. The speakers didn’t just share wins, they shared lessons learned the hard way, which made the conversations even more valuable.

Grateful for the chance to connect with other growth-minded leaders across DFW and to walk away with insights I can put into action right now.

Already looking forward to the next one.

Thank you to Dezaree' Greene and Comerica Bank for sponsoring me.
