Example of Installation of Electric AC on 2024 Volvo 860 Truck

Electric AC & Diesel Heater is powered by additional LiFePO4 Batteries, which are charged while the truck is running. In hot weather, Electric AC is able of keeping the cabin cool for 12-20 hours without additional recharging.
The AC indoor unit is installed on a special additional frame made of metal profiles, which is attached to the cabin frame under the interior trim.
The battery compartment consists of two x 280AH parallel-connected LiFePO4 Batteries mounted in a metal frame that is bolted to the base of the cabin.
Automatic circuit breakers and fuses are installed both in the charging circuit and in the circuits of all loads.
The battery charge status is monitored both using an application on the driver's smartphone, which is connected to the batteries via Bluetooth, and using an additional display monitor, which is installed on the decorative lid covering the air conditioning hoses.
The charging process is controlled by a special controller that monitors the state of the on-board network and gives the command to charge additional LiFePO4 batteries only when the generator is running and the main starting batteries are almost fully charged.
