We are so happy to have our Caboose Model finished. It is the first Tiny House completed in our Layton location. It turned out really great and I think the new owners will love it.

I had a woman share an experience she had with purchasing a tiny house while we were at one of the county fairs this summer. She had a terrible experience; her tiny house was not built to any specific standard. The plumbing didn’t work properly so she had to run the hot water in her kitchen to get hot water in her shower. She could not get anyone to work on it and the person who had built it for her would not fix any of the issues. She just kept telling me that nothing was done to “code”. The hard thing with tiny houses on wheels is there is no specific “code” that they are required to fall under. They don’t fall under a regular building code because they are not on a foundation. This can make life hard for a consumer. How do you know what you are getting yourself into?
There are several different certifications you can look at that show you are getting a good product. Here at Spring Mountain Tiny Homes, we decided to go with NOAH RDI (Remote Digital Inspection). NOAH Inspection and Certification is a voluntary program for builders to demonstrate the quality of their product. The NOAH standard incorporates safety, structural and energy efficiency standard currently used by recreational vehicle and home building industries including ANSI (American National Standard Institute), NFPA (National Fire Protection Association), and NEC (National Electrical Code). NOAH conducts virtual inspection of every step in the building process including Foundation (Trailer and Attachment), Framing and All Trades (electrical, plumbing, and HVAC), Insulation, and Final. All inspections are archived and available for review in the future.
Please be careful and do your research on your builder before you buy a tiny house on wheels.

The Flagship is the first tiny house we built as a company. We had a lot of fun creating this space. It was built in Daniel’s front yard while he was still recovering from major surgery. Derrick went to Daniel with a line drawing idea for a floor plan and they put their heads together to figure out what it would take to make it a reality. Two months later they had this beautiful home exhibited at the Morgan County Fair. It is 26 feet long and features a loft bedroom. It has a double vaulted ceiling for maximum headroom. It also has a unique catwalk in the loft making it easier to get in and out of the queen-sized bed. Look at the pictures and let us know what your favorite feature is of this tiny house on wheels.
