Last chance - voting closes this Sunday, October 18 at 5 PM Central!

If you are a Geothermal Rising member and have not voted yet, this takes two minutes.

Max Nikolaev is running for the International Seat on one idea: the fastest way to scale geothermal is to connect what the world already knows how to do with the places that need it most. He has spent his career doing exactly that, and CARBO is proud to back him.

This year’s SPE Permian Basin Energy Conference and Exhibition was an exciting one for CARBO!

Our Chief Technology Officer, Terry Palisch, presented SPE Paper 234650-MS, Improving Permian EURs Through Science and Enhanced Completion Designs, sharing research focused on one of the industry’s biggest challenges: improving long-term recovery from unconventional reservoirs.

The paper explores how engineered proppant selection, placement, and conductivity can help maximize the value of the fracture network and support stronger long-term well performance.

We’ve taken a closer look at the research and key findings in our latest newsroom article: https://na2.hubs.ly/H08n1CW0

Zircon supply getting harder to predict? It may be time to start a different conversation.

At this year’s ICI Technical Conference & Equipment Expo, stop by Booth #130 to learn about OPTICAST — CARBO’s high-performance ceramic casting media engineered as an alternative to zircon for investment casting applications.

With consistent supply, stable pricing and reliable performance, OPTICAST gives investment casters another option when zircon availability and cost are increasingly difficult to predict.

Come talk with the CARBO team and see why it may be time to rethink zircon.

We are wrapping up our "Rethinking Ceramic Sands" series with Myth #9: Premium sand does not pay for itself.

The Fact: Total cost of ownership matters more than price per ton.

The upfront price may be higher, but purchase price is only one part of the equation.

ACCUCAST can create value across the entire foundry process through higher reclaim and reuse potential, lower resin demand, reduced scrap and disposal, and less finishing and rework.

When those savings are considered together, the total cost of ownership can look very different from a simple price-per-ton comparison.

Explore Myth #9 and see why the real question is not just what the media costs — but what it can save:

Another CARBO Strategy Week is in the books!

Each year, Strategy Week gives our teams an opportunity to come together across functions, reflect on our progress and align around where we’re headed next.

This year, we added something new: our first internal awards program, created to recognize the people whose teamwork, consistency, leadership and commitment to improvement make a lasting impact across CARBO.

Congratulations to our inaugural award recipients:
🏆 Precision in Every Particle: Scott Woolfolk
🏆 The Backbone: Tim Kriegshauser
🏆 Raised the Bar: Dina Goloshchapova
🏆One Team: Thu Lieng, Marzieh Eskandari & Rich Boudreau

We’re proud to celebrate not only these recipients, but all of the people across CARBO who contribute to our success every day.

Considering a proppant field trial in 2027? Now is the time to include it in your funding request.

An upgrade does not have to mean replacing your entire sand volume. A ceramic blend, tail-in, or other targeted solution can provide a practical way to evaluate performance where greater durability and retained conductivity may deliver the most value.

CARBO is ready to help your team explore the possibilities and plan a trial aligned with your technical and economic objectives.

Every epoxy formulation is built around a careful balance of ingredients.

While resin chemistry often gets the spotlight, fillers play a major role in determining how an epoxy processes—and how it performs in the field.

Engineered ceramic fillers can help improve:
• Processing consistency
• Wear resistance
• Dimensional stability
• Long-term formulation repeatability

Why?

Because the performance of a formulation often begins with the quality and consistency of its raw materials.

Our newest article explores how engineered ceramic fillers influence epoxy performance and why more manufacturers are evaluating them for demanding applications.

Discover how engineered ceramic fillers improve epoxy performance through enhanced wear resistance, dimensional stability, processing consistency, and formulation repeatability.

Myth #8 in our Rethinking Ceramic Sands series: Ceramic sands produce respirable silica.

Not all silica-containing materials behave the same way.

ACCUCAST is a manufactured ceramic media with silica bound within its ceramic structure. Unlike traditional quartz-based silica sand, ACCUCAST does not produce respirable crystalline silica dust.

That distinction can help foundries support safer working conditions, reduce silica-related compliance concerns, and advance broader QHSE goals.

Explore Myth #8 and learn why material form matters when it comes to silica exposure:
