On September 1, 2009, Generation Homes began with a commitment to building exceptional homes and creating an experience centered around the people who would call them home.

Today, we’re proud to celebrate 17 years of building throughout Northeast Florida.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of bringing countless ideas, plans and dreams to life—and none of it would be possible without the homeowners who have trusted us, the talented team behind every project, and the trade partners who have worked alongside us.

🌊 Taking Shape on the Coast

There’s a point during construction when the plans begin to look less like a project and much more like the home our homeowners envisioned.

We’ve reached that point on this coastal custom home.

Since our last update, framing has given way to a home with its rooflines defined, windows going in and the overall architecture becoming much easier to see. From the elevated foundation to the expansive covered outdoor living areas, each new phase is revealing more of what makes this home unique.

Building along the coast brings its own set of considerations, and seeing a home of this scale and complexity come together is always rewarding.

There’s still plenty of work ahead, but the vision is becoming very real.

Guest Rooms Designed to Feel Like Home

Home is a place of comfort and refuge, both for those who call it home and for the people they welcome. Which is why guest rooms matter too.

They may not be used every day, but when family and friends come to stay, these rooms become an important part of helping them feel comfortable and at home during their visit.

That means thinking beyond simply providing a place to sleep. Natural light, comfortable proportions, storage, finishes and details all contribute to a guest room that feels inviting and connected to the rest of the home.

At Generation Homes, we believe a well-designed home should feel complete from room to room. Creating a home for you also means creating a place where the people you care about feel welcome when they’re there.

Coastal Building Means Knowing What to Look For

Building a home along Northeast Florida’s coast involves more than designing for the view, the weather and the salt air.

It also means understanding the environment you’re building within and how to build responsibly.

If you want to build a coastal home, you need to know what comes next. Or have someone in your corner who does. Depending on the property, that may include evaluating the homesite, coordinating with the appropriate professionals, following required processes before construction begins, and making certain decisions about the finishes and fixtures for your home.

For homes on or adjacent to the beach, coastal requirements can affect exterior lighting as well as the light transmitted through windows and doors visible from the beach. That can influence decisions ranging from the type, location and bulb color of exterior lighting to window coverings, glass tinting and even turtle glass for doors and windows.

At Generation Homes, coastal building expertise means understanding the property, anticipating these considerations early, and knowing how to move a project forward responsibly while still creating the home our clients came to the coast to build.

Building Trust Across Generations

One of the greatest compliments we can receive is being invited back by a family we’ve had the privilege to serve before.

After building a custom home for one generation, they trusted us again, this time to help Mom remain in the home she loves.

This remodel expands the primary suite with additional living space, more windows, and abundant natural light. The bathroom is also being reimagined with modern finishes and features designed to help her remain comfortably at home for years to come.

Construction is still underway, and we’re excited to share this transformation as it comes to life.
