DAC, The Chips to Systems Conference, wrapped its debut with the kind of energy that suggested this year was different: 5,059 total attendees and roughly 120 exhibiting companies filling the floor.

The shift showed up most in how people talked about , as the conversation moved past assistance, tools that suggest and summarize, into ex*****on. Agents are now taking on verification debug, design optimization, and physical implementation inside the design flow, with established EDA companies and a new wave of AI-focused startups each bringing their own approach.
