Bullet setback can happen in various calibers often with the same over Pressure event results.
5.56 am******on , even with crimp on projectile Can be pushed back into cartridge case where it now becomes a hand gr***de if actually loaded into the chamber, and the weapon is fired. Least path of resistance is usually the extractor where cartridge case bursts releases pressure into action with results as pictured here. This very same thing can happen when 300 blackout is loaded into a 556/223 chamber barrel and inertia of bolt carrier group forces projectile back into case , or forward assist is engaged , compressing projectile , as well as powder which causes a bigger bang, but can also happen in subsonic loads. 30 caliber projectiles can be “swaged” down to 22 caliber as they are forced through the barrel, with possibly no catastrophic failure 👁️👁️🧐🤔
as has been seen with 4 to 5 .30. Cal projectiles stacked in a .22 cal barrel …..
with one poking out of the muzzle. 🤷🏻🤦🏻♂️
No BS.
….weapon held pressure while it was fired multiple times, user(s) thought they was missing target …..
when actually projectiles never left
the barrel.
Do not pick up rounds off the range that possibly have been set back and load them into a weapon and fire them or this is a very real possibility. Not just the wrong caliber Am******on in the wrong caliber weapon.
Also ,
Make sure to use correct caliber flash hider / brake /attachment / mount with your suppressor of choice ….

A .22 cal muzzle device will swage a.30 cal projectile out of a .30 cal barrel as well , down to .22 cal , shred the projectile , and dump it all into your suppressor in little PCs .
👁️👁️🤷🏻
Kinda like building a small block Chevy , no piston to valve clearence , and putting a big ole cam in it …. and then not doing a mock assembly / rotating the engine with clay on top of piston, to check - piston to valve clearence.
🤣
Excellent post keep up the good work FG&G!

An expensive lesson👀🚨PSA: ALWAYS double-check what ammo your mags are loaded with. Wrong caliber, wrong chamber, bad day. Stay safe out there. ⚠️300 Blackout round being loaded into a 5.56 chamber. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
