We're here on Facebook to promote a survey to help us ensure we are including the most beneficial features for consumers. A new refrigerator for prescription drugs is under development. It solves the problems and issues of using standard refrigerators for drug storage. Kitchen refrigerators, along with work or hotel refrigerators, are currently the typical location for storing refrigerated prescription drugs. This is not ideal for several reasons, including:
> Food in a communal fridge may be contaminated by mold or other foreign substances
> May have inadequate or no temperature control
> Often have an uneven temperature distribution
> Are accessible to children, guests, coworkers, and strangers who may accidentally mishandle them, move them or crush them inadvertently
We hope to provide a much better way to store these critical and often expensive pharmaceuticals. This new refrigerator is:
> Small - The size of a small thermos, weighing under a pound
> Portable - Rugged enough for travel
> Convenient - Can be stored on your bathroom counter or your desk
> Versatile - Powered by a standard electrical outlet, a car power outlet or an optional battery pack.
> Smart - Provides accurate, even temperature control and warns if medications get too hot or too cold
> Sanitary - Provides an alternative to a common-use refrigerator containing food and potential contaminants
> Secure - Prevents access by others
