To our Northwoods Seminar™ enthusiasts: The Galloup School of Guitar Building and Repair is announcing the “Northwoods Seminar™” for the summer of 2023. The Northwoods Seminar™ is a four-day event focusing on demonstration and lecture. Past seminars have included domestic and international instructors who are the best in their field and at the top of their game. For the student, this is a rare opportunity to learn from the “best of the best” in an intimate shop setting. Dates: August 21-24, 2023
Location: The Galloup School of Guitar Building and Repair
10840 Northland Dr.
Big Rapids, Michigan 49307
Cost: $1,500.00
Included are daily demonstrations and instruction from featured luthiers, all instructional material with a catered lunch and dinner each day and nightly entertainment. We have already started a wait list and expect the available enrollments to fill quickly. We are offering this opportunity to our Facebook friends first before opening it to the general public. Due to the tight budget the $1,500.00 must be paid in full to secure your spot. There will be no refunds unless the event is cancelled or we can fill your spot. Our Northwoods event and the Fretboard Summit are scheduled for the same week in August. We have collaborated with the Fretboard Summit’s team for those who want to take advantage of both events. The Galloup School and The Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago are only 4 hours apart so we have scheduled our sessions for Monday through Thursday and the Old Town School’s events will be Thursday through Saturday. The Fretboard Summit is offering a discount to all Northwoods Seminar attendees who want to make the trip to Chicago. Dan Erlewine and Bryan Galloup have put together a core list of instructors for the upcoming event. For the most part though, this gives you an idea of the Luthiers that will most likely attend along with some of the topics they will cover. For more information contact:
