Notice ash and debris collecting on your roof lately? 🍂
It’s not just cosmetic. Ash tends to settle in roof valleys and gutters, and when it builds up, it can trap water and push it back under your shingles during the next storm instead of draining away.
It’s also mildly acidic and a little abrasive — so over time it can wear down certain shingle types faster than normal.
The tricky part? A layer of ash can hide real problems underneath, like granule loss, cracked tiles, or lifted flashing, until a storm brings them to the surface.
