Not all ADUs are created equal.

Some are built from the ground up. Some are garage conversions. Others require additions, utility upgrades, fire sprinkler modifications, drainage corrections, and navigating city requirements that most homeowners never see.

That’s where experience matters.

Over the years, we’ve helped homeowners and developers transform all types of properties into functional ADUs, including converting a five-car garage into a fully permitted living space while solving complex utility, grading, and compliance challenges along the way.

Every property comes with its own set of obstacles. The key is having a team that knows how to identify problems early, create solutions, and keep the project moving.

Whether you’re planning a garage conversion, detached ADU, or ground-up build, the right process can save you time, money, and costly surprises.

If you’re a homeowner, investor, or developer looking to build an ADU in Los Angeles or Southern California, DM us today and we’ll help you plan, build, and navigate your project the right way from day one.

Project Lake in Altadena is officially underway. 🏗️

We’re currently in the excavation stage, with the site being marked out and prepped for the build. There’s a lot of digging happening at the moment, especially with the slope and retaining walls, but this is where everything begins.

This will be a 2,200 square foot home with a two-car garage, designed with accessibility in mind from day one. The layout, entry point, and interior spaces are all planned for ease of access, including an elevator and ADA-friendly features throughout.

If you’re planning a custom home or build, feel free to reach out! 💬

Every project has its own group of people quietly making things work on site. These are the subcontractors who show up, do the detailed work, and make sure each part of the build is done properly. Electrical, plumbing, finishing, and everything in between. We stay on site with them to keep things coordinated and moving in the right direction. Good builds don’t happen from one team alone. They happen when everyone does their part and communicates well throughout the process. If you’re planning a project, we can help manage the coordination so everything runs smoother from day one.

Project Boyle started as a single-family home and was fully converted into a legal triplex.

It was taken down to the studs and rebuilt with all new layouts, updated systems, new kitchens, and modern finishes throughout.
A lot went into making the property functional, compliant, and ready for multi-unit living.

Swipe through for a look at the transformation.

If you’re thinking about a remodel or a full conversion, reach out to us and let’s talk it through.

A lot of what we do today started with one multifamily conversion near USC.

We took a four-unit apartment complex made up of one-bedroom units and converted each space into a three-bedroom, three-bath layout, all within about 800 square feet per unit. That project opened the door to working with more developers in the area and helped shape the way we build today.

Over time, we learned that keeping projects close together helps everything run smoother, from scheduling and materials to workflow on site. When crews, systems, and materials stay consistent, the process becomes faster, cleaner, and more efficient all around. That foundation is a big part of how Alloy Builders operates today.

If you’re thinking about a redevelopment or conversion, feel free to reach out.

Roof framing is underway and Project Palm is really starting to take shape.

We’re about two months into construction now, with a few more to go before completion. A lot of work goes into this stage, but it’s always exciting seeing the structure finally come together after weeks of groundwork. 4 months left til we get to the finish line. More updates soon.

If you’re planning a build, remodel, or ADU project, send us a message and let’s talk through it.
