Have you been thinking about applying to a construction apprenticeship program? The HCCTP (Highway Construction Careers Training Program) offered by Parkland College Community Education is an excellent way to get a closer feel for the heavy construction industry and gain knowledge and tools used in the trades. There is NO cost to the students accepted into the program. The Highway Construction Careers Training Program (HCCTP) is fully funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation.

We recently completed this improvement and extension project on Thies Avenue and Airport Road in Effingham, IL. This morning, The City of Effingham hosted the formal opening of the new portion of Thies Avenue, the reconstructed portion of Airport Road, as well as the dedication of Schutzbach Street.

Work continues on the construction of the Downtown Plaza. The e/w crosswalk at Neil/Church is currently closed. The site can be accessed at the e/w crosswalk at Neil/Hill or the n/w crosswalk at Neil/Main. Thank you for your patience while this project moves forward!
