This week, our ECI REC line crews from Vinton and Independence came together near Aurora to upgrade a two-phase line to a three-phase line following an engineering recommendation to better balance the electric load in the area.

This project was completed just ahead of the storms that moved through this week, a great example of teamwork, planning, and dedication to keeping our system reliable for the members we serve!

In 2025, 53 ECI members donated a combined $6,252 to our RECare program to help local families in Benton and Buchanan Counties with heating bills and home winterization costs.

Safety starts with education and preparation.

Last month, Adam, ECI’s Manager of Member Service, presented electrical safety information to Benton County fire departments at the Urbana Polk Township Fire Department.

Training opportunities like this help first responders stay informed about electrical hazards and safe response procedures when working around energized equipment and utility infrastructure. We appreciate the dedication of our local fire departments and the work they do to keep our communities safe.

ECI REC’s 2026 Annual Meeting is set for Tuesday, June 30.

Virtual meeting room opens: 10:30 a.m.
Business meeting begins: 11:00 a.m.
